Eddy current testing: Detecting resistance.
By means of material testing, defects in the heat exchanger tubes can be detected before leaks can develop.
Testing with an eddy current sensor makes use of the differences between the specific resistance of the tube material and that of other substances to identify inclusions of foreign material, material fatigue or hair cracks. Coil sensors are moved over the surface. If there is a change in the eddy current density, it may be assumed that there is a deviation in comparison with an undamaged component
